Dear friends at Gaia,
I am happy to inform that after several sleepless nights, a site from google group has been set up by the name of "Friends of Assaji Tanchangya". This group was established in order to ensure the academic success of Assaji (that's me), as I journey to the West in pursuit of my graduate studies.
I'd love to express gratitude to Samme who inspired us to create this site and also to all those who have been consistently encouraging – we do not mention all your names as there are too many, but you know who you are... Samme is willing to contribute small amounts of income for my incidentals. Please share http://assaji.gaia.com/blog/2008/5/any_advise#comments
HummingBird (mom) is the group owner of the site, meaning she has started the site and now we both managed it. I am deeply thankful to her for a numberless things, but just to mention without her this would not have been accomplished. She has tirelessly worked in putting up this site to the last minute that she almost missed her dinner at a friend's place tonight.
In this site, everybody will be automatically emailed directly on anything I write about on the site and your comments, advice and connecting will always be valued and treasured by me.
Friends, if you feel this is for a good cause, we would appreciate your participation and presence to keep us motivating and inspiring.
Membership can be either voluntary joined from the site http://groups.google.com/group/assajisfriend or giving us your gmail or any email, we will send you an invitation. At first, we may not have much members, but over the years we hope to grow into a bigger group to be a force in serving others in need.

precious Assaji son may you have many worthy friends
Hey Mom, I hope so too. I think the whole of spiritual path is made of worthy friends who inspire each other. As in the Upaddha Sutta (SN 45.2), there is a conversation between the Buddha and his disciple Ananda in which Ananda enthusiastically declares, 'This is half of the holy life, lord: admirable friendship, admirable companionship, admirable camaraderie.' The Buddha replies:
'Don't say that, Ananda. Don't say that. Admirable friendship, admirable companionship, admirable camaraderie is actually the whole of the holy life. When a person has admirable people as friends, companions, & comrades, he/she can be expected to develop & pursue the noble eightfold path.
I believe this principle would be highlighted into our community, so that we can build stronger relationships based on shared ethical values and the pursuit of enlightenment.
Assaji, let me know when you have an address in the UK, i m only on a small pension but I would like to help in some way as I am able. What exactly will you be studying? I never make financial transactions on the internet as I share a joint account with my mother whom I care for, but if I have your address there are safer ways to do so..
thank you son, this is true
nothing is 'in part'… it is all here, isn't it!
I keep learning from Ananda
Zephyr, thank you this is so precious
So much love to you and your mother
Zephyr we hope you'll still join Assaji's Friends and be with us
to share the journey
your inspirations and advice will always be appreciated
Zephyr, thank you so much for being one of the pioneers in this joined effort. I remember you suggested of a group meeting with friends like Tantricska and so on once I settled in London. I will definitely let you know of my address in UK. I will be studying there mainly Indian Buddhism with particular emphasis on the Sanskrit Literary Sources, but this is going to be a taught course, so I got many subjects to choose from, which is good actually. You know then I got the freedom to choose the subjects I enjoy most.
As Mom has said we hope you'll still join our friends circle and be with us to share the journey. There is a detailed information on visions and aspirations, that you might be interested to look into. Thank you for being a part of this.
The Google group is looking pretty good. Kudos to you both and to Anna for putting her heart and soul into it. The motherly touch is evident all around. With Anna as your motherly mentor, I am sure of your success. May you be surrounded with good friends and company.
Thank you Samme! I have just created a new page called “Journal” on our Google group where I share my everyday experiences. I hope an notification has been sent to your email by now and you may read it. Love and Light to you dear friend. You are an inspiration to many of us here.
