aaw - almost like a Spanish dancer!
I love yellow and deep orange (I would happily wear your clothes :)

I also quite like purple,
deep moss green
mmm… cerise… ochre… cyan… lime green…
…  actually I also love all colours!
- what I've found is colour depends entirely what it is next to

say for instance, one has an amazing green
but next to the 'wrong' shade or colour
it 'dies'

Like the sea - turquoise or blue green or aquamarine!  That was my theme color during my wedding. And I do love to wear clothes in those. But I kind of love most other colors too somehow.  To wear I go for the warm colours like red, orange, yellow and the neutrals beige, black, ecru and then also blues, greens, purples and their combinations.  And I love the red, white and black combination which is quite popular in Nepal.  I quite agree with Anna that when mixing colors, they need to blend harmoniously, but then again it's all in the eye and the heart of the beholder!

for me it's not really to do with the need for blending. I think sometimes colours do blend well - at other times they offset each other - sometimes they 'vie' with each other … all sorts of possibilities… and each can be interesting. There's always some sort of relationship - I guess the main thing is each colour needs to be serving the other in some way…lol - you can hear my art school back ground coming through here - my teacher was always getting us to look 'deeper'

lol it is really nice reading all your knowledge on colours. I seemed to have ignored studying colours in my earlier days at school, but the truth is the colour was something always a part of my visualization or imagination. So now it just comes very spontenously without even having to learn the names or usagage of different colours. Like when I use the photoshop, I absolutely have no idea which colours fit what, but my basic instinct tells me that this is alright and that is not, and I go with that. Is that alright?

Yes Anna, I quite agree that sometimes colors refuse to blend and decide to offset and upset one another - LOL! Just like people at times!

I do trust by basic instinct as well in mixing colors, assaji no matter whether everyone else agree or not.

Hi True Eloquence. i love your colours on other people, some it really suits. Fun reading others responses here too. I absolutely adore all of natures colours, from pale shell pink, to the brilliant vivid shades, and no matter what shades and textures nature puts together it always works. To wear i love all colours, the blues and turquoises, greens and yellows golds russets and browns, reds, least favourites are black grey and stone puce and  very pale pink, they don't do much for my complexion LOL.

I love all kinds of colors and do not listen or believe when others associate a negative thing to a color.  All colors are wonderful to me.  I love purple.  I love orange.  People say I look good in red.  I tend to mostly pick black for outfit and I look good in black.  Years ago pink and brown clash, but I combine them, pink shirt and brown pants and they look fabulous.  I like green.  I love burnt orange.  I also like gray and charcoal gray.  Oh and oatmeal color in a sweater is fabulous with my skin tone.  I like to wear blue like the blue in Vincent van Gogh's paintings, and mediterranean blue, cerulean, cerise and chartreuse.

Yes, i work in photoshop, mom. I love it too. A Thai friend taught me the basics and then I learned the advanced areas myself with the help of tutorials and youtube videos. It is one of the best available softwares I know today.

Mila, you have a hidden sense of humour. You talk like me sometimes. I like it.

Gael, “to wear i love all colours” lol. what is your complexion btw? I have no idea what is the colour of my complexion. Can anyone tell me please? As I said, I just follow my basic instinct in judging what suits and what not, lol, but all is relative. To be able to know what suits what is a gift though, then one can immediately select, for example when went for shopping. Sometimes I spent a lot of time in the shop just choosing, lol, I am so picky sometimes, because I have no idea what suits me.

Samme, your sentence ”I tend to mostly pick black for outfit and I look good in black” says that you know what suits you or at least what you love to wear. Well, I love black too (a friend gave me a light black shirt and i love to wear it now). I don't have much outfits to choose from lol, because we usually wear mostly orange or such related coloured robes. I don't care much what I wear though. I just have few robes and I use it exchangeably.

Interesting discussion here.
